There his teacher was Olof Jernberg. In D\u00fcsseldorf, where he became a member of the Malkasten art association, he established himself as a sea painter. He made numerous trips around Europe, from 1890 to the Netherlands, as well as to Egypt and other African countries. From 1891 he was represented at exhibitions at the Munich Glass Palace, and from 1893 at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition. For the German sea pavilion at the World Fair in Paris in 1900.
