Additional Description

Jungblut initially worked as a craftsman at Villeroy & Boch in Mettlach. As a self-taught artist, he dealt with artistic painting. In 1885 he moved to Dusseldorf, where he was probably a loner, and in 1889 he lived in the Pempelfort district. His son, later sculptor Emil Jungblut, was born in Düsseldorf in 1888. The painters Walter (1892-1941) and Hans Jungblut were his sons.

Jungblut's painting was strongly based on Old Dutch models. His specialty was impressionistically painted, misty winter landscapes on Dutch waters in the low sun. Norwegian fjords and other motifs that he often painted this way. Some of his photos were drawn under the pseudonym J. Sander. It is believed that he could also be by the pseudonym of J. Metzler, Ev Wendlinger
