housing: mahogany, boxwood, olive and many other types of veneers, glass; mechanism: brass, bronze, steel; height 220 cm; width 50 cm; depth 26 cm.
England, 18th century
in the style of George III
on 4 console legs; wide, rectangular plinth, separated by a profiled cornice from the narrower shaft, decorated at the corners with fluted quarter columns made of gilded bronze and; with a single-leaf door closed with a three-part curtain arch. A massive hood, wider than the shaft, flanked by a pair of fluted columns; an extended finial, with a broken volute arch, decorated with brass pinnacles. A dial covered with a glass door, made of brass, with Roman hour digits on the ring; engravings in the center
floral; applied openwork corners, with vases and floral flagellum; painted lunar calendar in halfway; mechanism with a load tension (2 weights), an anchor escapement and a pendulum regulator painted in a scene, a comb strike system and a repeater
