Władysław Chmieliński (Warsaw 1911 - Warsaw 1979) was a painter associated with Warsaw, where he lived and worked. In the years 1926–1931 he studied at the Warsaw Municipal School of Decorative Arts and Painting (formerly the Drawing Class). The leading theme of his paintings were city views, oil-painted and watercolor. In the years 1935-1938 he created a series of watercolors depicting objects of Polish architecture; among them, views of Sandomierz, Krakow, Kazimierz on the Vistula, as well as the interior of historic churches and palaces, including The Royal Castle in Warsaw and the Palace in Wilanów. He also painted landscapes and rural genre scenes - sleigh rides, sleighs, sleds, weddings, horses against the backdrop of the landscape. In 1967-1969 he went to Denmark for longer stays. In the years 1936-1939, the artist also used the nickname "Władysław Stachowicz".
